Baby-Cue

Baby is a tiny doll who lives in the perpetually dark Niteworld. The only light place left is the theme park Welcomeworld, the creation of Baby's long lost father. Baby travels to see him and wreaks havoc with the help of her special powers, a supply of jelly beans and her mysterious friends. Can she destroy the ultra-powerful, mega-rich 'nice-guy-in-a-sweater'? This film takes place in a dystopian world slightly different from our own, where houses are made out of candy, Michael Jackson is an ice-cream man, and Reality TV stars face consequences for their actions.

The Divertimenti

The Divertimenti' is a unique and beautiful sequence of films where the viewer is taken on a journey into a 4-dimensional abstract and painterly world, where animated brush strokes dance and dart across levels of glass in perfect synchrony with the music. The Divertimenti is a sequence of six three minute films made in three intensive years of work with six different composers. The films were first seen on TV embedded in a BBC2 program called "Space, Time and Paint" in 1998, which included footage about the process used to make them. 'The Divertimenti' collected a total of six awards, including the Experimental Film Award at Ottawa.

In Vivo

"In Vivo" is an assemblage of found footage. Doing doesn't provide much in the way of conventional context as to how these varied sources interrelate or how they should be read. But in editing them together at all, he asserts a radical subjectivity, an authorial presence that is autobiographical even when the images themselves are clearly borrowed from another vault. Doing positions himself, and the histories through which he has lived, within a much vaster narrative, implied through the other-realm textures of analogue footage as much as the actual content of his archival excerpts.
