Olentzero eta Subilaren Lapurreta

It's Christmas in a small village in the Pyrenees. Olentzero is a beloved character who represents the Christmas spirit and distributes gifts to children. He has already received all the letters from the children in the valley and is watching their behavior through the "magic log" burning in his fireplace. An evil businessman has arrived in the village and wants to cut down the forest to build a ski resort. He steals Olentzero's "magic log" and all the letters, putting the children's gifts in jeopardy. Anjé, a young charcoal burner, is tasked with setting things right. Pandorama

"This is a nice fruit tree here. Why don't you eat from it? " Working from about 2,500 images, all painstakingly drawn and painted and textured onto clear 70mm film leader, Nina Paley’s brilliant, camera-less short film paints the proverbial "Fall from Grace" as a labyrinthine trip through Pandora's box. It is a mad race, a dance with death and a rollicking good time in this raucous, vibrant set of color images shimmering and shimmying over a black background, all to the driving insouciance of Scottish punk rockers the Revillos' "Yeah Yeah."

Palimpsest

Palimpsest charts the changing lives of the interior of one house over a period of three centuries, a time-frame compressed into ten minutes - portrayed through a combination of time -lapse, real-time, and stop-frame photography. The camera is fixed as the 'space' inside the frame itself transforms, destructs and evolves over the years: historical eras are evoked through references to 17th, 18th and 19th century painting and early 20th century cinema and the human presence in the house is signalled through scenes of everyday labor and domestic duty.
