For Better or for Worse: The Babe Magnet

Michael is frustrated that he has his license, but isn’t allowed to drive the family cars. Michael and Gordon go in together to buy a used fixer-upper, thinking it's a guaranteed babe magnet. It has the opposite effect, continually breaking down - and straining their frienship. Elly has booked April’s birthday party over at the Burger Bin, but she comes down with the flu and has to ask Michael to take April and look after the party, leading to some lessons about life, and friendship.

Ho Ho Nooooooo!!! It's Mr. Bill's Christmas Special!

For longtime fans of Saturday Night Live, nothing says "Christmas" like clay, and the hapless hero of Walter Williams's sadistic skits brings it all back in this half-hour 1996 special. Those who can't stand watching the torture of static, crudely sculpted Play-Doh people might not see the humor as Mr. Bill's whole family is subjected to a wide array of holiday abuse--from the festive blendering of the egg dog to the explosive arrival of the sinister Santa Sluggo. Things are livened up by spiritual guest Father Guido Sarducci and his quest to find a real Christmas in sunny L.A., home of many former SNL actors and writers. Mr. Bill also takes a technological leap forward as a reluctant Scrooge in a computer-animated version of Dickens's A Christmas Carol. Humorous ads for some very simple toys also add to the fun and festivity.

Derviches

August 1992. I was working for a whole week in total darkness, in the image-by-image mode of my Super 8 camera. As I perceived an image on the screen, I started imagining what it would be if those images could show their own metamorphosis… But within a single frame, I had the sharp impression of a real contact behind the image itself. As if I could reach the formal and mathematical language of models… The images seemed to be whispering. More movement… more space…I keep developing this laboratory of shapes known as the Dervishes.

O. Ratz: Rat in a Hot Tin Can

Living in a trash can, O.Ratz and his pal Dave D. Fly try to find warmth on a cold winter night. After several attempts fail - including being thrown out of a homeless shelter and crushed by a snowplow with a freshly warmed blanket attached to it, O.Ratz and Dave stumble upon an old space heater and plug it in. Unfortunately, newspapers too close to the heater cause a fire leading to a gas explosion, sailing them off into the sky to possibly an even colder destination.

Life

In life, the big fish eats the little fish, and the bigger fish eats the big fish. To illustrate this basic truth, thirty-three animators each introduce a character who eats the one previously introduced and is eaten by the next animator's creation. It happens on land and at sea, with humans, animals real and imaginary, aliens, a few plants, and a robot. They are chomped whole, sliced, smashed, flattened, inhaled through straws, eaten from the inside out and the backside forward. Sometimes the little guy wins; nothing and no one is invincible. By the end, we've come full circle.
