The roofs of the three houses rise like hats. Three grim faces appear beneath it. They're glued to the walls. A colorful man with a small house on his back wants to settle down next to them. They push their dogs against him. One person-house is dying. The other two watch his funeral with indifference. Lightning sets fire to the second house. The neighbor doesn't help. Past the last man-house passes the colorful man. The man-house wants to go after the colorful man, but his feet are tied with a chain.

On the table, the pencil is resting from his work. A hungry mouse discovers him on her foray. She threatens the pencil to gnaw him if he does not get her something to eat. In his distress, the pen begins to draw and paints various goodies. When the mouse greedily wants to get over it, the pencil connects the drawn figures to a cat with a few strokes. The mouse squeals in horror and flees.

The wolf is annoyed with the sheep shadow at first, but they soon become friends. The hungry wolf tries to sneak past the sheepdog. Then he gets himself hired by the farmer (who "seems" to be dumb) by coming up with the zaniest of excuses when he keeps getting caught with another sheep! The farmer does have the last laugh!
