On the advice of a minah bird, Bobo paints himself pink to gain access to a ship bound for the U.S., because nobody on the ship will admit to seeing a pink elephant much less act to remove the presumed hallucination. After Bobo arrives in America, a steet-cleaner washes his pink color away, and people are now willing to acknowledge seeing the little elephant. Bobo is arrested by the police and chained for trial by judge, and the judge sentences him to life - in a circus, where he is bat "boy" for the big top baseball team, and laments that he's carrying logs (i.e. bats) yet again!

Answering a call for dogs to contribute to the war effort and join the "W.O.O.F.S." a small white puppy falls in with the others at a training facility manned by Gandy and Sourpuss. To clean them up, Gandy removes their fleas with a vacuum cleaner labeled "Flea Internment Camp". While the rest go through exercises and drilling, the puppy isn't big enough, so he's washed out. Moping around the beach, he sees a German submarine land and three fat pig Nazis emerge, one looking like Hitler. The pup alerts Sourpuss and the dogs, and a shootout ensues, the Nazis holed up in a shack. They toss out a bomb, but our hero tosses it back, blowing up the structure, and leaving the pigs as three hams with a swastika imprints. The pooch is truly patriotic, and gets a flag-waving medal ceremony.

It's bath day for Pluto; we open with him already being scrubbed. He gets out, and his tug of war with Mickey and the towel lands Mickey in the tub. The soap jumps out, and Pluto swallows it, hic-cupping soap bubbles as Mickey chases him. Pluto gets out, and the people on the street think Pluto is rabid and start hiding and throwing things at him. Dogcatcher Pete comes along, and prepares to shoot Pluto. Mickey catches up to him just in time. He tries pleading, then fighting, but they get away when Mickey throws a kitten into Pete's pants. In the ensuing chase, a fruit cart provides more diversions, and ultimately they manage to crash Pete into his own truck.
