Short found footage + super8 film by Danilo Torre.

A Super8 of desecrating and captivating animation, made by one of the greatest representatives of the Italian "art film".

The film is uncommonly poetic and refined. The pictures come from a book by Federica Pagnucco and Linda Wolfsgruber, realized with printed characters in wood and lead. An old printing tecnique, well blended with wood-printed shapes, which gives a special aura of magic to the book, and subsequently to its animated version, thanks to the participation of Thomas Renoldner and the evocative soundtrack by Peter Rosmanith. It is a precious film owing to the rare suspension of the atmosphere and time, actually fixed and focusing on small things, habits, interstices, in the end, worlds...

The Final Evolution series had a television broadcast as an animated feature film in December 2008 on Italia1. However, this version cut several scenes for reasons of time.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted. A kaleidoscope of visions, where each scene dissolves into the next in a flow of confusing and distorted images.

Giona, a shy teen, does not enjoy himself at all on the crowded beach, much less than his friends do. But when he puts on a jockstrap he found laying among the rocks, he lets himself go to the sea of feelings and sensations that previously frightened him.

The video, presented as a degree thesis project, was born from the need to enhance the Pirandello Mines, a place rich in history, in Aragona, Agrigento, linked to sulfur and the figure of Luigi Pirandello, of which the family was the owner. The video is therefore born from the poetics of Pirandello’s works, combined with the suggestions of the place. There is no linear narrative but it presents itself as a dreamlike journey, also conducted following the music of Lero Lero, a band from Palermo that takes up the popular songs of Sicily.

In a video game that simulates factory exploitation, a girl tries to save the employees

In a dystopian future, gravity is inverted, causing the Earth to appear desolate. In this world, X, a 30-year-old non-binary individual, walks along a road with deep, dark circles under their eyes and drool trickling upward. Despite their fatigue, X is driven by a singular goal and continues their journey with determination.

A little galago needs to learn how to hunt, but his fear of falling out of trees stops him. The main themes of the short are the fear of failure and the chance to turn failures into opportunities.

Giovanna is wandering along on her horse in a colorful gummy world in search of a mysterious creature, until a rhythmic sound makes her shake. Suddenly, Giovanna wakes up in the greyness of the real world.

In free association of ideas, around 1200 drawings created with a black marker on "transparencies" follow one another in continuous metamorphosis.

Marionetti is a tender, ironic character, always poised between situations of simple comedy (Marionetti/marionette) or sophisticated futuristic atmospheres (Marionetti/Marinetti).

As a great tribute to Swiss mechanical watchmaking, "OMEGA Quality Campaign" journeys through the brand's most epic historical events in a magical choreography of tiny precious movements.

Spectators of other peoples play-lives, it happens to all of us: we look around but we don't see, we hear, from time to time, noises and voices, while our thought runs after our past happiness, an unsatisfied wish, a never ending pain, or simply after ourselves. Its name is loneliness, broken when many loneliness merge. And the spectators enter the playground with the players.

Inspired by «The Conference of the Birds» by Farid al-Din 'Attar, an 18th century Persian poem, the film tells of a flock of birds that travel following a hoopoe, towards the Mountain of Kafh, home of King Simourgh, from whom they expect to receive the answers to all their questions. Between dream and reality, the birds will cross the 7 valleys.

A moment of transition in the life of Luigi, a child from fourteenth-century Florence. A weaver’s precious embroidered blanket brings to life the adventures of young Tristan, which inspires Luigi to take on the skills and code of knighthood.

Sometimes our memory evaporates, sometimes it is mesmerizing, and sometimes it is like a granular souvenir.

In 1962 Ernesto De Martino travelled to the South of Italy for his ethnographic research and shot "La Taranta". A study around women who were poisoned by a Trantula bite while harvesting in the fields. The remedy against the deadly poison was a folk dance called Taranta. The women danced the poison out of their bodies with the help of local musicians and priests. Studies around this phenomenon have highlighted that, in the majority of cases, these women were suffering severe mental illness and hysteria due to sexual abuse and poverty. In present-day Italy a similar dynamic has resurfaced, uncovering the stories of groups of immigrant women (mostly from Romania) who were victims of agricultural and sexual exploitation in Ragusa, Sicly. I reapprorpiated the 1962 archival footage to propose a different angle of the story surrounding these women. Not from the point of view of a man who has undertaken to observe them, but from the point of view of a woman from the South of Italy. (FF)

The film comes from the manipulation of 35mm film material, of old very different movie trailers each other. During the making of the film it showed the need to intervene with pictorial elements and perforations for enhanced images in sequence. With an assembly were cut and reassembled on movie film pieces that have given rise to a sort of "dream epiphany" of pre-existing material. The narration is defined by an "internal gestures" that is contextually develops to become music.

An abstract animated short in which a solitary figure journeys through a surreal tunnel filled with shifting imagery and symbolic encounters. The film uses experimental visual techniques to evoke themes of introspection, subconscious exploration, and existential passage.

In a cave situated between the ridges of a human fingerprint, a primordial encounter with matter, light and sound unfolds.

In an ordinary pond lives a rather solitary toad, whose unusual behaviors baffle the other inhabitants. He seems to have no interest in the other frogs, isolating himself and, in turn, being isolated. However, an upcoming event will allow Toad to reveal his unexpected positive qualities, leading him to be appreciated… all while staying true to himself.

London, 1888. A portly-looking man is in a psychoanalyst's office. The hypnosis session begins: the man is lost in a distorted architecture inhabited by characters with monstrous deformities. The psychoanalyst tries to bring the patient out of his trance, but in the dream dimension he finds him crouching over a prostitute with knives and bloody hands.

Toni Fabris, a great innovator in his field, was one of the first to experiment with animating plasticine sculptures for film storytelling, using the so-called “passo uno” technique. For example, in the short film “Il forziere della natura” (1956, 9'29")
