Galo Sengen

The animated music video became well-known for its humorous depiction of a Japanese youth culture known as "Gyaruo," which is characterized by the dark tanned skin, dyed blond hair and appreciation for dance music. In the video, a group of men are satirically portrayed as Super Saiyans, a type of superfighters from the Japanese manga franchise Dragon Ball, who transcend into the state of "galish" or "gyaru," a slang term derived from the Japanese pronunciation of English word "girl."

Ulysses

During the process of re-reading all the diaries of the author's childhood, a long forgotten silhouette suddenly emerges out of an old memory. The artist returns to the scene of the memory to search for evidence of her existence. The entire film is rendered by computer software and is filmed in one shot from beginning to end, like a roamer roams about through a dream, where dreamland and one’s memories interweave in fabrication and deviation. This film is an overture from the project Corner of the Park, continuing the work which was done years ago. The project sets out to form a complex labyrinth-style network of narratives regarding memory.

Please Save My Earth: To Rin-kun, from Alice

The film “To Rin-kun, from Alice” is essentially a summary of the six OVAs, narrated from Alice’s point of view. We see a more mature Alice strolling through a large park filled with cherry blossoms, reflecting on events from years past. At the end of the film, it’s revealed that she had arranged to meet Rin there. Although most of the film contains scenes already seen in the OVAs, a new scene from volume 21 of the manga is added near the end, providing a more definitive conclusion to the story.
