Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines is a stop-motion animated feature film by director Clyde Petersen. Based on a true story, the film is a queer punk coming-of-age tale, taking place in Southern California in the early 1990's. Raised by a schizophrenic single mother, Petersen's life story unfolds in a series of baffling and hallucinated events. With a mother fueled by hallucinations of political conspiracy and family dysfunction, twelve-year-old Petersen is taken on a cross-country adventure that will forever alter the family as they know it.

Panoramic Chronicle

All those silent people on the train. Who are they, anyway? And what are they thinking about? French visual artists and co-directors Lewis Trondheim and Jean Matthieu Tanguy take great delight in speculating on the above, with style, aplomb, and a little help from singer/musician Thomas Fersen, whose narration amusingly adopts the tone of an ad man. Consisting of an impressive tracking shot through the passenger car of a train, Panoramic Chronicle takes a common, humdrum experience and turns it into a captivating journey that’s tinged with some deliciously deadpan humour. A slice of everyday life, courtesy of the Comic Strip Chronicles.

Triptych - 2

Abstract film made from the video capture of a live animation performance presented in Vienna on May 30th 2011 at the Stadtkirche with Andrea Martignoni in the context of the Vienna Independent Shorts Festival. It was a double performance where parts engraved directly on ± 16mm black film are inserted on a background made with the help of a live mixing software. The film is based, on the one hand, on a process of condensation and densification of the original footage of the performance that serves as a departure for interventions that intensify its energetic potentialities.
