In a remote Turkish village an ostracised orphan girl seeks out the forbidden Alevi in her quest for faith.

A mystical place, an enchanted story: A group of knights, imported directly from the Middle Ages, go ashore on the banks of the Río de la Plata. They have sex, find a car, enjoy a sunset with beers in their hands. Then an announcement comes over the radio that makes everything appear in a different light, and there’s no going back.

As much about light, color, texture and sound as it is about “story,” “Beautiful Like Elsewhere” evokes a mysterious dreamscape of shimmering tableaux that seem to exist just on the edge of consciousness. Populated by human and nonhuman organisms, classical images and pure form, this allusive world, which may be a vision of the afterlife, hints at a deeper level of awareness and meanings beyond words.

This bawdy comedic film parodies the classics Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz and Mommie Dearest. In the grand tradition of Shakespeare, all the roles are played by men (except two). The young girl wants to get to know the man, that seems to come out of the river Ruhr, the river that her mermaid obviously would prefer rather than a small snow globe. Fascinated by his appearance she doesn't hear the many voices. Voices of children that come from the depths of the river.

The Bakal na Krus (lit. Iron Cross) is the legendary weapon of the Tagabantay. The cross can transform into different weapon forms with the sword form as its default. Only the Tagabantay can use this weapon. The Tagabantay can attract the cross to his or her hands and place it securely in a wall. Bakal na krus Juan getting the Bakal na Krus from the wall. The cross became the legendary weapon as it is today when Datu Bangaraw struck the cross into the ground and made a prayer to make the cross a weapon of salvation. It is said that one who has bravery in one's heart and faith in God will become powerful. Datu Bangaraw's prayer was heard and the Bakal na Krus became a weapon that can change into different forms. He then passes the sword to his son, who in turn passes it to his descendants.
