Super Malan Djombo

Lisbon, Studio Valentim de Carvalho, 2022: Malan Mané, former star singer of the famous formation Super Mama Djombo from Guinea-Bissau, who has been living in exile in France for 30 years, is preparing to finally record the album he composed decades ago. How many miracles did it take to make this moment a reality? How did Mané live all these years in exile? The songs reveal his view of Guinea-Bissau and today's Africa. Today, 50 years after Guinea-Bissau's independence, what has become of the revolutionary ideals of yesteryear? Accompanied by Mané's music and lyrics, the documentary shows the images of his incredible return to Bissau in 2019 - after 29 years abroad.

Président : le prix à payer - Face au terrorisme

The history of the Fifth Republic is marked by terrorist attacks that have shocked the French people and placed their leaders in the position of having to shoulder the ultimate responsibility: that of embodying a nation struck by horror. From the actions of the OAS, which directly targeted General de Gaulle, to the mass killings by Islamist terrorists during François Hollande's five-year term, to hostage-takings such as that of the Algiers-Paris flight during the cohabitation between François Mitterrand and Edouard Balladur, and the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty in October 2020, all presidents have been confronted with these turning points, when politics takes a back seat and it is necessary to act according to one's conscience in the solitude of power.

Moebius Redux: A Life in Pictures

French artist and author Jean Giraud is one of the most famous and influential comic strip illustrators and authors of all time. He achieved his greatest fame as Moebius - not so much a pseudonym as an alter ego. With his triple-split personality - Jean Giraud, Moebius, Gir - he succeeded in making his work accessible in popular comic strip series like Blueberry, in metaphysical fantasies like John Difool and, not least, to a broad public, with set designs for films such as The Fifth Element. In Moebius Redux - A Life in Pictures an exceptional artist tells his life's and work's story. Extraordinary views on Paris, Los Angeles and the Mexican desert build a visual link between his life and his artistic universe, accompanied by the electronic soundtrack composed by "Kraftwerk" legend Karl Bartos.

Homo Spatius

Can Homo sapiens evolve into Homo spatius? For over 50 years now, we have been testing our human nature in our effort to conquer outer space, and still 30 years away from a possible human exploration of Mars, a question remains: Can our body take such travels? Will it ever adapt? Combining human adventure and the exploration of the human body, this film offers unique insights into the physical and psychological effects of space travel on the Astronauts and measures the impact on medical sciences.

93, rue Lauriston

93, rue Lauriston, in the 16th arrondissement de Paris, is an address of bleak memory. It was indeed the headquarter of the French Gestapo, which was active between 1941 and 1944 and was headed by Henri Lafont and Pierre Loutrel, two wanted criminals. On the day of 1940 he was demobilized, little did well-meaning Léon Jabinet know that he would be associated with such disreputable characters. And yet, some time later, Odile Panzer, the Jewish girl he has been hiding at his parents'place, is arrested by the Gestapo. On this occasion Léon is offered a deal for her release: collaborating with the Carlingue (another name for the French auxiliaries of the Nazi police) and Odile will be free. Or else... What should he do?
