Limbo

On Christmas Eve, Manuela Paris returns home to a seaside town near Rome. She has been absent for some time, ever since she left - still a girl - to be a soldier. With determination and sacrifice, Manuela laboriously built the life she dreamed of, until she became an army non-commissioned officer and platoon commander in an advanced base in the Afghan desert, responsible for the life and death of thirty men. But the bloody attack in which she was seriously wounded forces her into a very different and no less insidious war: against memories, disillusionment and pain, but also against the stereotypical role of woman and victim that society tries to impose on her. The meeting with the mysterious guest of the Hotel Bellavista, Mattia, a man apparently without a past and, like her, suspended in his own personal limbo of expectation and hope, is an opportunity to come to terms with his story. And to find that life is always worth living - because nobody, not even her, is what they seem.

1919 - Fiume, Città di Vita

A country torn apart by the First World War. A people mourning over 650,000 fallen in the trenches. Politicians humiliated at the Versailles peace table. A poet-soldier who draws crowds to every rally. A city that becomes an emblem of irredentist and nationalist claims. It was in this Italy that the Fiume enterprise began on 12 September 1919: the adventure of Grabiele d'Annunzio and a handful of legionnaires who set out from Ronchi in Friuli, against the will of the established power, to occupy the Adriatic city and annex it to Italy, establish the Regency of Carnaro, and found a 'myth' destined to influence Italian and international culture and politics, aesthetics and vocabulary, well beyond the Twenty Years of Fascism.

307-r

'307-r' treats about a mysterious soldier put in a post-apocalyptic scenery; he has no name and, unfortunately, he finds himself inside the humid torture room of the enemy, who will force him to face the demons of a tormented mind. The soldier lives in a so-called limbo of a future society where the one and the only law which is observed is "homo homini lupus"; he plays his personal chess game in a constant balance between the physical violence and the psychological torture, in a delirious climax whose highest point is an external act of becoming conscious of the situation. How long can a man resist under torture? How far can a man push his limits? But, above all, who is the mole?
