Meet the Navy

During World War II, the Canadian Navy gathered a troupe of diverse performers (dancers, comedians, singers, musicians) from its ranks and sent them off to entertain their shipmates, and the show/revue ultimately played London's Hioopodrome. The acceptance was based more on wartime-London's appreciation of the gallantry of Britain's sons and daughters from over the seas than it was on the artistic value of the show or the talent of the performers. The film is a fictional/fact mixture of the adventures of the troupe members, and the ending, only part filmed in Technicolor, is primarily the Revue as seen at the Hippodrome.

Let Them Come

At the turn of 1990 in Algeria, in an end-of-era atmosphere marked by the victory of the Islamists in the municipal elections, then in the interrupted legislative elections of 1991, a prelude to a decade of particularly barbaric violence, the Algerians will experience the radical Islamism, its desire to rule public and private life and a daily life of attacks, assassinations, then collective massacres, which left 200,000 dead. Literature and cinema have strived to question and bear witness to the enormous trauma of this period called the “black decade”.

The raid fails and Singleton loses his Lance Corporal's stripe, so he and a little evacuee girl named Irene (Vera Frances) decide to fall back on 'Plan B' - to build their very own tank.

Junge Adler

Director Brakke has good reason to be happy: he has just received the news that his son, Theo, won first place in the local boat race. To be sure, he had forbidden his son to take part in the competition, because the son's grades in school are substandard. In the end, Brakke sees no other way than to pull Theo from school and install him as an apprentice in his airplane manufacturing plant. Although Theo is received by the other 150 apprentices in a friendly fashion, he behaves in an arrogant and disrespectful tone towards them. He feels himself to be better than them, because his father is the director of the factory.
