Joselito is a naughty boy that sings like the nightingales. He lives in a little town near Sevilla. He has a great success due to his magnificent voice and then he can practice charity with a girl from his town.

Joselito is a child whose mother left town when he was just a baby and whose father has died. He lives with his grandfather, the bellringer of the town, and his best friend is the sexton. He enjoys singing and has not lost hope of someday meeting her mother.

Joselito is a shepherd who lives happily taking care of his sheep in the mountains. From time to time he goes down to the village where his parents live. His mother always expects him but his father is never there. When Joselito discovers the real reason for this absence (his father spends all the money the boy carries home in drinking) he decides to quit everything. Then he associates with Pepino a sympathetic rogue who believes that the voice of the shepherd is going to provide them a lot of money

A marriage without great financial resources and bad luck wins a little lamb in a raffle. Once they have decided to have it for dinner on Christmas Eve, the couple warn that their children have grown too fond of the animal, now christened as Bolita.
