Johnny Rutledge is a drifter who comes to and discovers a cabin in the forest where five kids: January, February, March, April, and May are living without parents. Their parents died a while ago, and they want to keep that secret from the townspeople, especially the young school teacher, Prudence Millett, to avoid being sent to a children's home and eventual separation. Johnny moves in with the kids and poses as their uncle to take care of them while romancing Prudence. But in order to keep the children, he has to get married.

Hye-ok and doctor Jeong, are happily married, but she worries that they are childless. While the doctor is away on business, a boy shows up saying he's her husbands son from a one night affair during the war. He's been raised in secret, but now that she's on her death bed he has no choice but to meet his father. Hye-ok feels betrayed and tries to send him to an orphanage, but he refuses. While he lives with her, Hye-ok begins to feel for him, and he for her. Upon her husbands return Hye-ok is set to leave, and Jeong begs for forgiveness. Meanwhile the boy waits for his real mother by the train tracks and nearly falls to his death by a train. She is killed saving him. Will the boy reunite with his step mother and finally know his father?

Once upon a time, there had been a tailor who sent his three sons out into the world, so that they might find fortune and learn something proper. The oldest went to a carpenter and was gifted a small table at the end of his apprenticeship. It set itself with all kinds of delicacies when ordered to. When he visits a hostelry, however, he gets cheated from the table by the innkeeper. The second son became the apprentice to a miller and received a donkey as a parting gift which could spew gold. But he as well got cheated out of the wages of his apprenticeship by the criminal innkeeper. The third son conveniently received a club as a parting gift from his turner master. Spontaneously, he helps his brothers reclaim what was theirs, and the thievish innkeeper experiences a bad surprise.

A young girl becomes lost in a department store during the Christmas shopping rush. The frightened child is comforted by a department store Santa Claus who tells her a tale of storybook characters brought to life - of Tommy Tucker's love for the lovely Jane Piper and the cold-hearted villainy of evil Silas Barnaby. Through the girl's dreams, the viewer is transported to Toyland. Based on the classic Broadway operetta by Victor Herbert and Glen MacDonough, this was its second live television special production, with some new cast members and some returning.
