Flinderella: Princess of the Terrace

Flinderella lives in a terrace and that's her world... A sad, dark, cold and lonely place that is transformed into a magical space, thanks to the light of our heroine's soul. Alongside her live her guardians of the heart: a magician, a fairy, an angel and a jester: they help her, accompany her and give her strength when she feels lost. Her joy and her ability to feel and dream make Delfina, her sister, hate her, envy her and try to destroy her. Delfina has everything that can be bought with money and lacks everything that comes from the heart. Such is the strength of the soul of our “Princess of the Terrace” that she manages to reverse Delfina's superficial and frivolous world. In this terrace love arises, since Max, a writer who lives nearby, manages to see everything that happens in the house of the evil Delfina and in the dome of the sweet Flinderella. A new tale with a great love story.

The Business: Suburban Rebels: Live at Rio's

This live-concert video captures the Business at their best -- snarling and living up to their reputation -- during one of the group's 1998 United Kingdom tour shows. All the band's signature punk anthems (including "Suburban Rebels," "Smash the Discos" and "Drinking and Driving") are featured. Genre devotees will recall that the Business was at the forefront of the Oi (aka street punk) movement that became an offshoot of traditional punk music.

Coldplay: VH1 Storytellers

Weeks before the much-anticipated release of their album X&Y, Coldplay took the stage at Brooklyn Academy Of Music for an intimate night of storytelling and live music. Chris Martin, Will Champion, Guy Berryman, and Jon Buckland debuted new tunes ("Square One," "Fix You"), revisited old favorites ("Clocks," "Yellow") and even shared a song they wrote for Johnny Cash ("Till Kingdom Come"). Chris explained that "Yellow" was inspired by the Yellow Pages ("In an alternative universe this song would be called Playboy") and revealed "Speed Of Sound" was an attempt to rip-off Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill." It was a magical night for the introspective Britpop heavyweights.

A Darkness Swallowed

“A Darkness Swallowed opens on a pair of faded photographs showing an old dented car, one with a child standing beside it and the other without. Speaking in voice-over, Bromberg references a past event, one that will forever haunt her although it occurred before her birth. The film then sinks downward, dipping below the surface of the rational world to mine the seemingly infinite layers of the past stored within the fleshy entrails, chalky bones, sinewy spider webs and gnarled ligaments of both the body and the Earth. Noises – of clanging metal, bells, heartbeats and jazz music, to name only a few – combine to create a dense sound environment, a seemingly immense, three-dimensional space for contemplation." – Holly Willis, L.A . Verdi: La Traviata

Live from La Scala Saturday 07 July 2007. In this live performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera, Violetta, a courtesan much wooed by Parisian society, organises a grand party that is attended, amongst others, by the young Alfredo Germont. He confesses his feelings to Violetta, who is already suffering from consumption. She vacillates between genuine affection and a realistic assessment of her situation as a "fallen woman", which precludes any lasting relationship with a man.

Madama Butterfly

Japan, early twentieth century. U.S. Navy Lieutenant B.F. Pinkerton inspects the house he has leased from a marriage broker. The broker, Goro, has procured him three servants and a geisha wife, Cio-Cio-San, known as Madama Butterfly. He is enchanted with the fragile Cio-Cio-San. Cio-Cio-San is heard in the distance joyously singing of her wedding. In a quiet moment, Cio-Cio-San shows her bridegroom her few earthly treasures and tells him of her intention to embrace his Christian faith. The Imperial Commissioner performs the wedding ceremony, and the guests toast the couple. The celebration is interrupted by Cio-Cio-San's uncle, a Buddhist priest, who bursts in, cursing the girl for having renounced her ancestors' religion. Alone with Cio-Cio-San in the moonlit garden, her husband dries her tears, and she joins him in singing of their love.

Rick Wakeman: The Six Wives of Henry VIII. Live at Hampton Court Palace

Rick Wakeman's "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" is one of the landmark albums of the seventies, a critical and commercial success that has sold in excess of 15 million copies worldwide. In May 2009, Rick Wakeman finally achieved his long held dream of performing the entire album live at Hampton Court Palace. It was the first time the whole album had ever been performed in concert & included the Henry VIII track "Defender Of The Faith," that had to be cut from the original album for space reasons, plus new opening and closing pieces. The two spectacular sell out concerts were a never to be repeated event and this Blu-ray shows why they will live long the memory of all those fortunate enough to attend.

U.D.O.: Nailed to metal

1. Holy 2. Raiders Of Beyond 3. Midnight Mover 4. Independence Day 5. Metal Eater 6. Winter Dreams 7. Shout It Out 8. Cut Me Out 9. I'm A Rebel This DVD is jam-packed with U.D.O. goodies and the most interesting one is certainly the "Live in Russia" concert recorded in 2001. The overall picture is very average but acceptable (with sometimes some annoying black and white and distorted effects), and the sound is rather surprisingly good for a 2.0 audio mix. However, the footage is limited to only nine tracks - a 45 minutes set list, instead of a full concert. I would have preferred to have an entire gig and fewer extras. Nevertheless, the gig is awesome and it's so great to see U.D.O. perform their songs and the Accept ones so well and accurately.
