Chet Atkins & Jerry Reed: In Concert at the Bottom Line June 22, 1992

Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed in concert together. What a treat!! These two masters of the guitar complemented each other so well that it is hard to imagine one without the other! Chet Atkins, the subdued quiet picker, thrilled at performing the fast, frantic instrumental written by his energetic alter ego, Jerry Reed. Their careers intertwined for most of forty years, resulting in a number of award-winning collaborations. Their 1992 Grammy Award winning CD "Sneakin' Around" led to several show dates together, including this performance at the Bottom Line. The instrumentals that were shared by these two guitar giants will be played and studied as long as there are guitarists on this planet.

Prince Videography Collection

As a memorial item for Prince, a complete compilation of promotional videos from 1979 to 1990 has been released on Blu-ray at the highest quality. This title, the first in the series, which takes advantage of the large capacity of Blu-ray and compiles uncompressed footage with master quality intact, captures the visual image of the film from the early sexuality era to "Purple Rain" in chronological order, and then the visual image that changes with each album. It is truly a compilation of images from Prince History. Moreover, it is the first video collector's item that contains a total of 3 hours and 13 minutes of existing promo footage, including familiar footage on MTV at the time and rare versions that have not been released until now.

Welcome To The Cheap Seats: "The Motion Picture" Video

Hungry film cameras first began following The Wonder Stuff in June 1990 and finally left them alone on a cold November night in 1991. They followed the wandering minstrels across two continents in a savage ten thousand mile, seventeen month journey to the heart of the groove machine. Fourty thousand feet of celluloid later, the result is 'Welcome To The Cheap Seats'. A rock 'n' roll experience nestling somewhere between 'Slade In Flame' and 'Coronation Street'. The Stuffies swap insights for insults as they discover Tartan, Polka Dot and Stadium Rock in a tale that captures the band on stage and off-guard. The ten-legged's adventures canter to a soundtrack bustling with old favourites, brand new tunes, and a few classic humdingers they wish they'd penned. The film offers but a brief glimpse into the hurly burly, hussle bussle, day to day life of ordinary rock folk. Play Loud!

Guitar Grind

"Guitar Grind" opens abruptly with an overhead shot of Parrino, clad in sunglasses and a T-shirt, as he begins sliding his bass guitar—positioned facedown like a violin bow—against a guitar resting atop its case, causing a somewhat unholy racket. Occasionally reaching up to tweak the amplifier or manipulate the guitar pedal to produce screeching and howling feedback, Parrino uses the instruments unconventionally so that together they project a discordant noise. The artist masterfully draws the listener in to hear repetitions, subtle variations, and musical gestures in the unusual sonic palette. Shot by a lone cameraperson, the visuals of Parrino's performance become increasingly abstract as the music develops into a more familiar and alluring language.
