Legacy

Imagine that Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce and Cardi B all moved to Scandinavia. They played gigs at local clubs and toured school auditoriums all over their adopted countries, while finding partners and having children at the same time. This did happen, just in a previous era. From the late 1950s up to the 1970s, some of the greatest African-American jazz musicians moved to Sweden/Scandinavia, making new families and a lasting musical impression on the country. LEGACY is an account of their lives, their music and their families and their legacies. We follow their children, now grown, who share their stories for the first time: about growing up with a world-famous father, yet getting teased at school about their dark skin. This film is as much a documentary about music as it is a portrait of how individual experiences of race, visions of society and artistic dreams intersect, giving rise to an entirely new musical experience.

Victory: Live at Wacken

Recorded August 1st 2025. Founded in the early 80s, the band, led by guitarist Herman Frank, forged a sound that oscillated between stadium anthems and hard-hitting riffs. Songs like "Never Surrender" and "Don't Tell No Lies" sounded like calls to never lose faith. Decades later, they return to the stage with their tried-and-tested blend of emotion and rock power – more mature, closer, and bigger than ever before. Setlist: "Are You Ready", "Take the Pace", "Rock the Neighbours", "Gods of Tomorrow", "Standing Like a Rock", "Speak Up", "Feel the Fire", "Surrender My Heart", "On the Loose", "Check's in the Mail"

Endless Calls For Fame

Endless Calls for Fame takes place in the gritty streets of New York City in the 1990s during a time when punk and indie rock was moving from the underground into the mainstream after the cultural tsunami of Nirvana. Using her rediscovered personal archival footage, the director shares the front-row story of this unique era of alternative rock through the lens of one band's experience, The New Rising Sons. The film brings to life a vibrant New York music scene of the past as it follows the band’s brush with stardom, their dissolution, and their journey to redemption 20 years after they were formed.

Discarded Memories of the Past, Present, and Future

Disjointed moments from the filmmakers’ daily lives during the past year. Captured on a 1985 VHS camcorder with color and luminosity distorted by its failing color Newvicon tube. Cut with distorted tape-recorded fragments of nostalgic broadcast television ephemera. Scored by whatever was handy— from an ambient electronic song with a surprising amount of pipe organ (Oneohtrix Point Never - Boring Angel) to midi versions of your favorite SNES soundtrack (Donkey Kong Country – Aquatic Ambience, Opening, and Treetop Rock) to a not-quite-right rendition of a song that will make you want to say “Oh, Angelo, that’s tearing my heart out!” (Xiu Xiu – Falling). A voyeuristic peak at home movies that exist somewhere between soon to be forgotten and forgotten long ago. The occasional dot matrix time stamps in the corner of the footage somehow make it harder to place in time.
