In search of the reality of life for independent musicians in the digital age, the film and art collective "relativ kollektiv" spent over a year accompanying the protagonists of the label and network "Analogsoul" in Leipzig, Berlin, Erfurt, and Jena. The film introduces the musicians in their everyday environments: in rehearsal rooms, during field recordings, at concerts, but also at their "day jobs." Directors André Klar and Benjamin Büttner discover situations between dedication and resignation and shed light on the everyday questions of people whose lives are based on their passion.

Theater director Thomas Ostermeier stages Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's timelessly magnificent "Threepenny Opera" with the ensemble of the Comédie Française in Aix-en-Provence, based on a new translation of the original text by Alexandre Pateau. In London's underworld district of Soho, the beggar king Jonathan Peachum and the criminal Macheath, known as Mackie Messer, are at war. The latter also seduces the daughter of the shady "businessman". When he finds out that the two have secretly celebrated a wedding, he decides to get rid of his rival. He is aided in his endeavors by Jenny, a cunning whore who betrays her ex-lover to the police. Back to the original: First performed in 1928, the opera parody strings together one biting musical number after another in cabaret style and jazz rhythm, breaking the boundaries of the genre, which until then had been considered bourgeois. Because the "Threepenny Opera" by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill is clearly political!

Johannes Brahms: Sinfonie Nr. 4 e-Moll op. 98
Shrill, loud, colorful and fun - that's what Neue Deutsche Welle stands for. Songs like "Ich will Spaß", "Sternenhimmel" and "99 Luftballons" are still a must at any good party today. Yet the songs are already over 30 years old - just like the movement itself. The wave spilled over into Germany at the end of the 70s. For a long time, German musicians copied what was happening in the USA or Great Britain. There were hardly any German-speaking pop stars at the time. Inspired by punk, German musicians began to experiment at the beginning of the eighties: initially, the music was still characterized by cool synthesizer sounds and provocative lyrics.

Sergei S. Prokofiev's monumental setting of Leo N. Tolstoy's epic novel, War and Peace. The composer and his wife Mira compressed the plot, set during Napoleon's Russian campaign, into a powerful sequence of scenes in which the love story between Natasha Rostova and Andrei Bolkonsky and the description of the Russian army's fight against the French invasion alternate in rich contrast, and at the same time are closely interwoven. All is related by the music in its fullness of splendid themes and touchingly quiet moments. Prokofiev's musical-dramatic masterpiece combines social drama and historical chronicle in its 13 scenes to form an exuberant panorama. In this production by Dmitri Tcherniakov, the opera is performed in in Munich for the first time ever.
