For 13 years the quartet Long Distance Calling, which is based in Münster, has been praised and celebrated for its equally weightless and colossal music. After returning to their instrumental roots, Long Distance Calling planned the next step. Under the perfect tour title 'Seats and Sounds', the band performed in front of a seated audience.

The mysterious figure of John Styx tells the story of behind-the-times Orpheus and his hacked-off Eurydice, of gods and goddesses seeking diversion, jaded with humdrum life in Olympus. He tells of the rebellion in the pantheon, which Jupiter adeptly averts by promising an amusement for his entourage. Burning with curiosity to see the beauteous captive and the contest between Jupiter and Pluto for Eurydice’s favour, the illustrious company embarks on an infernal ride to the underworld that culminates in what is surely the most wellknown can-can in the history of music. And what of Eurydice? She ends up putting a spoke in everyone’s wheel…

The concert took place on August 11, 2018 during the Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbühl. Originally a black metal band, they were then considered traitors to their own genre. Nowadays Norwegians are mainly one thing: cult. Satyricon has been around since 1990, this veteran of Black Metal, which was originally supposed to be a quartet. But since their band members left for various reasons, Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven (vocals/guitar) and Kjetil "Frost" Haraldstad (drums) have been rocking out on their own, bringing guest musicians into the happily rotating lineup.

On their hike, the two friends Hans and Richard arrive in the Black Forest village of Sankt Christoph on the eve of St. Cecilia's Day, where they find accommodation in the house of the respected cathedral choirmaster Blasius Römer. There they meet his employee Bärbele, who is in love with Blasius Römer. A little later, the attractive Malwine arrives in the village from Berlin and sets her sights on Hans. However, Malwine is rejected by Hans on the evening of the Cäcilienfest dance, who decides in favor of Bärbele, who is shunned by the locals as the niece of the 'Muhme', a woman known as a 'witch'.

Since winning Eurovision in 2006, Lordi have become a household name in hard rock and heavy metal. Founded in 1992, the band has established its monster metal sound with albums such as The Arockalypse and Sexorcism. The Finns are also renowned for their spectacular stage shows and the monster costumes they wear. Lordi at Summer Breeze 2024 is a guaranteed spectacle!

Die Zauberflöte is one of Mozart’s most famous works and one of the most beloved of the entire operatic repertoire. Generations of spectators have been fascinated by the melodies and adventures of Papageno, the Queen of the Night, Tamino, and Pamina, the ordeals faced by the young lovers, and the work’s inexhaustible allegorical depth. The director Romeo Castellucci has deliberately stepped back from the narrative dimension of the opera in order to explore its raw emotion and its philosophical heart. For his part, the conductor Antonello Manacorda brings Mozart’s immortal music to life with the help of an outstanding cast that includes Sabine Devieilhe, one of today’s finest interpreters of the Queen of the Night.

Live at Rocknacht, Germany 1996. Sonic Youth is an American alternative rock band from NewYork City, formed in 1981. In their early career, Sonic Youth was associated with the No Wave art and music scene in New York City. Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound. As a result, some consider Sonic Youth as pivotal in the rise of the alternative rock and indie rock movements.

The London Telegraph described pianist Alice Sarah Ott as the “hottest new talent in classical music”. She now makes her debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker performing Ravel’s vibrant, jazz-influenced Piano Concerto in G major. Another artist making his debut is the Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali, who shows the music of his homeland from its most passionate side: with Jean Sibelius’s Tchaikovsky-inspired First Symphony, and music by the internationally too little known Uuno Klami.
