The three screens show a line of musicians emerging from the distance as the music they play slowly becomes more audible. Through a series of synchronized camera movements, the sound of their instruments ebbs and flows, forming a constantly shifting trio playing a coherent piece of music across the three shots. The changing proximity and the resultant shifts in visual and sonic focus symbolize a mutable sense of connection between the viewer and musicians.

'Billy Bang Lucky Man' documents Billy Bang’s brave return to the battlefields of his past, fraught with memories and flashbacks, in contrast to the eboulliant youthful Vietnam of today, as he encounters a people and a culture that he had never known and had been taught to hate. His journey takes him through the rich musical traditions of Vietnam, from Saigon and the Mekong Delta, north across the 17th parallel and climaxing with his collaboration with the Hanoi symphony orchestra. ‍ 'Billy Bang Lucky Man' is about Billy’s desire to overcome and transcend the trauma of war through music and art.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Ace Combat series, the ACE COMBAT 25th Anniversary AIR TACTICAL ORCHESTRA performed a celebration symphony concert, including many popular songs from across the series. The concert was rescheduled due to COVID-19, and was performed on August 8th, 2021 at the Ota City Residents Hall Aprico Large Hall. Keiki Kobayashi, composer and sound director for the Ace Combat series, conducted the performance.
