The "Carnival of the Animals" is Camille Saint-Saëns' best-known piece. Saint-Saëns did not want it to be published. On the 100th anniversary of the composer's death in December 2021, the documentary reports on the circumstances under which the piece of music was created, tells of Saint-Saëns' life and how the "Carnival of the Animals" ultimately became an evergreen in the music world.

Yet the songs are already over 30 years old - just like the movement itself. The wave spilled over into Germany at the end of the 70s. For a long time, German musicians copied what was happening in the USA or Great Britain. There were hardly any German-speaking pop stars at the time. Inspired by punk, German musicians began to experiment at the beginning of the eighties: initially, the music was still characterized by cool synthesizer sounds and provocative lyrics.

And in 1988, Tom Capone and Kevin Egan took their seven song demo recorded in their hometown of Holbrook, NY and brought it to Some Records on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. From there, everything took off. WHAT AWAITS US, A Beyond Story is a documentary that, not only chronicles the history of the New York Hardcore band, Beyond, including their origin, their adventures and their demise after recording what is now considered an iconic record, but also depicts Egan's journey from New York to California as he tries to figure out where Beyond fits into his life today. The film includes interviews with members of the band, along with interviews with members of Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Judge, Burn, Bold and more.

The special livestream event, titled ‘Live at the Chapel Off Chapel’, will take place this Sunday, October 17th, at 6pm, with all the action available on the band’s official Facebook and YouTube. The band first teased the event yesterday, posting a picture tagged at Chapel Off Chapel with the caption, “It’s a glorious day in Melbourne and we’ve got something exciting to finally announce tomorrow!!!” The wonderful and intimate Prahran venue played host to the brothers earlier in the year, when they recorded the set between lockdowns. The livestream will feature singles from their recently released sophomore album Into The Great Unknown, which received strong reviews. The duo were joined by a full audience, keys, and string section for the very first time live.
