Karcius - Live In France

I stole this album from the tatuk's locker, and he stupidly shouted after: Before you, good fellows, is a concert of the Canadian band Karcius at some French festival in the town of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. A very good disc, I advise everyone. Although at first I was terribly upset, looking at a huge audience of people as much as one hundred and fifty, no less ... But then I remembered that a lot of groups finally performed in the studio, and nevertheless they recorded quite a blur of discs ... Here the option is different: the guys worked hard before an audience, albeit a small one.

Arch Enemy - Live At Wacken

Arch Enemy are on their way to world domination - at the least when melodic death metal is concerned! "Will To Power", their second release with the incomparable Alissa White-Gluz and successor to "War Eternal", is set for release on September 8th and will surely kick some serious ass. Of course, such a release has to be celebrated with live shows, Germany will be hit in January 2018. Wintersun, Tribulation and Jinjer will accompany Arch Enemy on their tour - a band package that is not to be missed!

100 Year Anniversary Concert - Birgit Nilsson

Birgit Nilsson and the Royal Opera are a synonymous concept in the opera world. After the debut of 1946 and the breakthrough with Agathe in Friskytten and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Birgit soon came to put the international opera world at his feet. At the same time she regularly returned to her home theater. Her last role in the Royal Operaian scene, she made in 1981 as Brünnhilde in Valkyrian. Here she did no less than 35 roles, of which several for the first time.

The Fun's Not Over: The James Phillips Story

The tragedy of Phillips’ death is that it came just as he was hitting his stride.. He was already the voice from the void; he was James the Boptist, a hard-partying rock ‘n’ roller that pioneered a new genre of Afrikaans rock music (despite being English) that sparked and fired a revolution. He was working with heavy-hitters William Kentridge and Warrick Sony on Faustus in Africa, staged in Grahamstown in 1995. This is a rollicking musical ride through all these incarnations, with frank insights from 80’s and 90’s musicians and leftie luminaries – from Johannes Kerkorrel to Lloyd Ross, Pieter-Dirk Uys to Zapiro by way of the Radio Rats’ Jonathan Handley and Vusi Mahlasela. It’s an intimate portrait of a wildly talented poet painted by those who knew him best.

Secret Music

A documentary film about Pulitzer prize-winning composer David Del Tredici and the historical and cultural significance of his music within and outside the gay community. The film investigates the sometimes ineffable processes that are fundamental to music composition, performance, and the communication of meaning through art. Highlighting the nuanced challenges of private sexual identity projected outward into art, the film examines Del Tredici’s personal transformations through the joys and sorrows of gay life, and his goal of communicating sexuality through music that is influential in modern culture. Through performances of Del Tredici's atonal and neo-Romantic music and interviews with world-renowned musicians and scholars, the film explores what sexuality in music represents creatively and what the implications of identifying an art form as gay, as Del Tredici has done, may be.
