Blue Note - A Story of Modern Jazz

"It must schwing!" was the motto of Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, two German Jewish immigrants who in 1939 set up Blue Note Records, the jazz label that was home to such greats as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. Blue Note, the most successful movie ever made about jazz, is a testimony to the passion and vision of these two men and certainly swings like the propulsive sounds that made their label so famous.

Donna Summer - Live & More Collection

About the film: It's hard to write something about SUCH artists, it seems that all the words have already been said a long time ago ... A wonderful concert of the famous and unfading Donna Summer, held in New York, in the famous Hammerstein Ballroom. She was called the "Queen of Disco", one of the few "long-livers" of the disco musical style. She was ranked among the most successful singers of the 1970s and 80s. Until now, she holds the record for the number of double albums released in a row, which occupied the first line in the music charts (3 such albums). She also became the first singer in the history of music, whose singles made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart 4 times in a year. Over 130 million records have been sold throughout her career. She has performed both in the US and abroad. The singer gave 7 successful world tours in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.

Score on a Gravestone

About the fate of composer Sarsky, who appropriated someone else's music and paid for it. A story about good and evil, love and hate. "Free submission to one's fate, rather than shameful struggle against it, is characteristic of animals" — these words of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius became the composer's life credo. Adherence to this dubious wisdom soon leads to the compatibility of genius and criminal. Love breeds misfortune, the doctor turns into an executioner, temples are destroyed, God turns away. However, everything changes with the appearance of a young trainee doctor who refuses to slavishly obey circumstances...

Classic Albums: Steely Dan - Aja

Aja was the biggest selling album of Steely Dan's illustrious career. It was the first album by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker as a duo. Fagen and Becker recall the history of the album, along with Peg, Deacon Blues and Josie. Michael McDonald, later of the Doobie Brothers did guest backing vocals on Aja, the late British musician Ian Dury, record producer Gary Katz and the legendary session musicians who worked on Aja also contribute. This is a vivd portrait of a 70's record that is still as fresh and as memorable more than two decades after its release.

Mijn Franse tante Gazeuse

Katootje lives in Droogbaak, a very neat municipality. And the neatest people in the whole town are Katootje's father and the neighbor. Katootje, who is almost eight, would like a pet, but she is not allowed to have one, especially not when the queen is visiting Droogbaak and the mayor is organizing a cleanliness competition. So it is not very convenient that her anti-authoritarian aunt Gazeuse and her fiancé, the feisty inventor O.J., unexpectedly come to stay at the Loire. Fortunately for Katootje, things become more fun and exciting at home, and O.J. helps her father in the fight against the cheating neighbor. Still, it takes a while for her father to learn his lesson: there are more important things in life than peace, cleanliness, and regularity.

Suske en Wiske, de Musical

In 1994, the Royal Youth Theatre of Antwerp made a theatrical musical based on the Belgian comic series 'Suske en Wiske'. Professor Barabas is working on a fantastic new invention: the Star Tapper. The invention is not quite ready yet, but Wiske, curious as ever, can't wait to test the device. Of course, this goes completely wrong, because Krimson, meaner than ever, is also back. An adventurous journey takes the friends via the time machine to the Mayans, ancient Egypt and China.
