Dave Kerzner - Static Live

Another blur from Dave Kerzner. Beautifully played, a good picture, interspersed with video inserts of nature, but again there is no normal menu with the ability to select the desired composition On two tracks before the end of the album, Francis Dunnery from The Syn played the guitar. And on the very last track, regular guitarist Fernando Perdomo came off. The plump, bearded man Fernando fell heartily across the stage, smiling at the maestro himself, who usually performs with an extremely serious face. By the way, the well-known Belarusian Ed Yunitskiy was engaged in the design of the album, I remember him from his work with the rock magazine "Colossus". The concert was played on September 14, 2017 at the Progstock in Raway, New Jersey.

Kameleoni - The Beatles of Former Yugoslavia

A musical-documentary film about five high school students from Koper who drove Yugoslavia crazy in the late 1960s. Despite a handful of their own original compositions, they filled halls and football stadiums with more than 10,000 visitors. The Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center and the Tivoli Hall were opened in Ljubljana. They laid the foundations of the Yugoslav music industry. The Kameleoni pulled back the Yugoslav Iron Curtain and helped the entire generation break free from the shackles of ideological and cultural post-war monumentalism.

8-Bit Symphony @ Home

Nothing beats the thrill of a live orchestra in an electrifying concert. But sometimes you just can't get there. Well, we've got you covered with 8-Bit Symphony @ Home. The atmosphere of a live concert is unmatched - the anticipation, the murmur of the audience, the shiver down the spine... you should go to the concert if you can. But... sometimes you just can't go. And that's where 8-Bit Symphony @ Home comes in, we're giving you a home experience that feels like a concert. The footage from the big screen on your big screen, and top-quality studio versions of the concert arrangements to blast through your speakers. It's not a livestream of the concert. The essence of the concert is the huge sound from a big orchestra and the hypnotic footage on the big screen. A livestream would rob the experience of all of that, with a rubbish sound and blurry video of a screen. But this way, it's like we brought the concert hall to your house.

The Magic Flute from Glyndebourne

One of Mozarts most enchanting works, Die Zauberflöte is a fairy tale that uses familiar archetypes to ask provocative and difficult questions about religion, the nature of power, the bonds of family, and of course love. Premiered just months before Mozarts death, Die Zauberflöte in many ways represents a new departure for the composer. Catching the spirit of revolution in the air, Mozart turned his attention for the first time from court opera to popular opera, writing this singspiel (sung-play) for a new and much broader audience. Celebrated Canadian directing duo Barbe & Doucet make both their British and Glyndebourne debuts here with their new Die Zauberflöte, a veritable theatrical feast of eccentricity. (The Guardian). Ryan Wigglesworth conducts an outstanding cast including Russian soprano Sofia Fomina as Pamina, David Portillo as her beloved Tamino, Brindley Sherratt as Sarastro, and the ebullient Björn Bürger as Papageno.

Forty-Five: The Search For Soul

Are record collectors simply purveyors of popular culture or are they its greatest protectors? The film Forty-Five: The Search for Soul, sets out to answer that question as we follow one DJ on a quest for black gold. For Johnny Starke digging through dusty thrift shop bins to find lost wax and forgotten sounds is not simply a hobby... It’s his chief obsession and his life’s work. This is a film about record collecting and more importantly, it’s about saving forgotten pieces of popular culture and returning them to the turntable, the dance floor and ultimately back to their historical relevance. Director Anthony Ladesich brings to life the story of one collector, one 45rpm record, and one song.

GUCA: Serbian Detox

When you detox in Serbia, you eat, drink, and enjoy the music. The greatest brass band festival in Europe is in GUCA. Paradoxically, it is a backwoods village located in the very heart of Serbia, but it beats with a passion and rhythm that unites the whole world. The whole region is a unique place where East meets West and the North borders with the South. The Celtic rhythm, a southern warmth, the Latin romanticism, and the Slavic sentimentality is present everywhere. It radiates within the culture, the food, the people and the music. The festival has been around for for the last 55 years. By its size and vibe it has often been compared with Woodstock and the Festival in Rio. About half a million people come to visit every year and they stay for a week during the month of August. What is really magical is that everyone feels rejuvenated after spending day and night in this place. No matter how long your trip will be, you will always want to come again.

data-verse 2

data-verse is a data-driven audio-visual trilogy by artist and composer Ryoji Ikeda which marks a two-decade culmination in the artist’s research. The trilogy addresses the layered dimensions of our world, from the microscopic, to the human, to the macroscopic. Through Ikeda’s process, massive scientific data sets have been transcribed, converted, transformed, de/re/meta-constructed and orchestrated to visualise and sonify the different dimensions that co-exist in our world between the visible and the invisible. Each variation immerses visitors in the vast data universe in which we live, capturing hidden facets of nature and the vast scientific knowledge underpinning our existence. This large-scale data-driven trilogy is generated by extremely precise computer programming and features a minimalist electronic soundtrack, harmonised with Hollywood-standard, high-definition, 4K DCI video projections of scientific data onto a large screen.
