A procession registered as political demonstration with only 150 colorfully dressed people dancing to house and techno. What started out small developed over the years into the largest party on the planet with visitors from all over the world. In 1999, 1.5 million people took part. With the help of interviews with important organizers and contemporary witnesses, the documentary reflects the history of the Love Parade, but also illuminates the dark side of how commerce and money business increasingly destroyed the real spirit, long before the emigration to other cities and the Love Parade disaster of Duisburg in 2010, which caused an era to end in deep grief.

Barrie Kosky gives the “operetta of all operettas” a new look and devotes himself to its morbid side. The setting is Vienna, city of the golden operetta era, where Die Fledermaus premiered at the Theater an der Wien in 1874. The bat's revenge becomes a nightmare, and not just for Gabriel von Eisenstein. A society, an entire city dances towards the abyss. To take revenge on his friend Eisenstein, Dr. Falke, alias Die Fledermaus, stages a game of mistaken identity at Count Orlofsky's house. A marquis and a chevalier, a countess and budding artists meet there for a raucous party. Glasses clink, relationships are shaken, people love, lie and dance. The party lasts as long as it lasts, true to the motto: “Happy is he who forgets...”.

The young musician Ralph Osterwalder, born in Bern in 1922, is tired of working in a big band. He dreams of a small, flexible ensemble. In 1944, he founded his own combo in a hotel room. In 1949, fierce disputes arose. The newly founded Hazy Osterwald Sextet, featuring Sunny Lang, Dennis Armitage, Curti Prina, Werner Dies, and Johnny Ward, soon made international music history. Fast-paced, catchy music, interspersed with humorous show interludes, became the band's unmistakable trademark.

But Donzdorf is the seat of "Nuclear Blast Records", one of the world's most successful independent heavy-metal record companies. The company's boss, Markus Staiger, grew up with heavy metal, like many young people in rural areas, and has turned his enthusiasm into an empire with branches in Los Angeles and other major cities. Housewives from the village work for the mail order department, sending out bloody skulls to every conceivable place in the world. Listening Sessions are held in the village pub, where the offerings are commented on by the regulars as critically as by international journalists. The film takes a look at the occasionally comical interaction of the tranquil village inhabitants with the rather crude hard rock scene.

The Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Jakub Hrůša, takes the audience on a journey through Bartók’s monumental work *Concerto for Orchestra*, which the composer wrote whilst in exile in the United States. The Czech conductor is a frequent guest with the Berlin Philharmonic. As is often the case, Hrůša looks to the East and presents Bartók’s unbridled music, which celebrates a European humanism.

After his wife's death, a vallenato singer from Majagual, Sucre, decides to quit music and return his allegedly cursed accordion to his master. He is joined by Fermín Morales, a teenage boy who admires him and wishes to follow his footsteps.
