With the help of her daughter and a mute servant, phony psychic Madame Flora uses her clients' grief to deceive them. But one night, an uncanny encounter leads to murder and madness. Croatian National Theatre Zagreb’s production of The Medium offers enough suspense to rival any thriller in just one hour. The efficiency of Hard Rock, the power of Heavy Metal, the spirit of Thrash. This is how we could sum up Furies’s approach and whose first album, which was released at the fall of 2020, will surely aim at the heart and guts of the Metal audience as a whole. The recipe has been proven and we know it works devilishly well. From the hymnic « You & I » and « Voodoo Chains » to more complex « Fortune’s Gate » or raging « Unleash The Furies », Furies distils a real Heavy Metal method in 10 lessons. No need to reinvent the wheel to make it roll far, fast and right : if the Parisian four-piece cannot deny old school heavy metal masters’s influence (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden), they add a touch of undeniable freshness and a resolutely contemporary production, coming from prestigious Labomatic (Paris) and Domination (Italy) studios.

Méphistophélès, less an intellectual "principle of negation" than a devilishly attractive magician, draws his attention to Marguerite - and Faust is delighted. A deal is quickly struck: the devil serves Faust on earth, and after Faust's death it is to be the other way around. Marguerite is also not unimpressed by what Méphistophélès has to offer: material luxury and sensual pleasure, often musically illustrated by Gounod with a waltz. But the relationship between Faust and Marguerite remains an episode, as Faust is drawn to new attractions, while Marguerite remains pregnant, only to see her unfaithful lover kill her brother.

A film of the opera The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten. A young governess arrives at an old house in the country to look after two orphans. What unfolds is a chilling tale as she experiences strange ghostly encounters with some of the previous occupants of the house and finds herself engaged in a battle to protect the children’s souls from evil. Myfanwy Piper’s libretto of Henry James’s famous short story leaves much to our imagination and Britten’s score is haunting, terrifying and brilliant. Shot on location at Wilton's Music Hall, London, the whole space of the venue, not just the stage, is used to tell the story.
