This project was done with humor, truth, and sarcasm. At the University of California, Santa Cruz, UCSC, where I went to college, there were many fans of The Grateful Dead. They called themselves Deadheads. I had not heard of the band before attending the school. I listened to the music, and I didn't understand why people felt so passionately about the band. I was intrigued. So in 1986, I decided to try and understand these people and the music they loved, and to create a video of my quest. This documentary project is the result. Enjoy.

A self-taught Roma musician from a village called Beska in Serbia, Dragan Petrovic, together with his three underage sons founded a band, not only to make a living out of it, but to, first and foremost, keep his family together.On the way to their dreams, from playing by ear to reading music, this unusual ensemble will have to overcome many obstacles of life, and the oldest son, Radovan, will have the hardest task - he will have to leave his village, enroll at the music school in a big city and share his knowledge with his younger brothers, so that one day, all three of them could become professional musicians.

A female musician lives in a traditionally built Japanese house. There are spirits running around the house that she cannot see. The spirits are delivering smells that they collect around the house to a being inside the water of the bath tub.

Sikh Musical Heritage: The Untold Story is an in-depth look at the history of traditional Sikh instrumentation and its crucial role in performing the devotional singing known as Kirtan of the Sikh Scripture, Guru Granth Sahib.

A 16mm visual and auditory exploration of the Haitian carnival. A hallucinatory and unparalleled carnival. Made in collaboration with students from the Cinema Institute in Jacmel, Haiti, and based on a poem by the young Haitian poet Gabriel Wood Jerry.

The programme shows Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie's fascination with music from an early age, listening to the sounds of Elvis and Aretha Franklin before graduating to punk. He talks about his passion for music and how to keep creativity on the right track. In the early 90s the UK music scene was changing - with Oasis and Blur emerging, this alternative rock band was recording in Memphis but suddenly sounded out of step with the music scene.

Frank Zappa: A Token of his Extreme is the 1974 television special recorded at Kcet in Hollywood that was produced by Zappa and aired only in France and Switzerland. The program, as thoroughly tweezed and produced by Zappa for his own Honker Home Video label, includes the following musical performances by Zappa and his band: T”he Dog Breath Variations/ Uncle Meat,” “Montana,” “Florentine Pogen,” “Stink-Foot,” “Pygmy Twylyte,” “Room Service,” “Inca Roads,” “Oh No,” Son of Orange County,” “More Trouble Every Day” and “A Token of My Extreme.” In the words of Zappa himself as he said it on The Mike Douglas Show in 1976, “This is put together with my own money and my own time and it’s been offered to television networks and to syndication and it has been steadfastly rejected by the American television industry.

Argentina's Public Television pays tribute to the outstanding singer-songwriter and composer Gustavo Cerati, with a tribute concert in which great artists such as Charly García, Fito Páez and Ricardo Mollo participated. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Public Television and Radio Nacional Rock, the concert also included the participation of Benito Cerati, Leo Garcia, Richard Coleman, Lisandro Aristimuño, Fernando Nalé, Leandro Fresco, Gonzalo Córdoba, Julio Moura, Guillermo Beresñak and the bands Catupecu Machu, Massacre, Eruca Sativa, Borgeanos Stories and Rayos Laser. Gustavo Cerati was one of the most important artists of Argentine rock and led Soda Stereo, rock and pop band he integrated with Charly Alberti and Zeta Bossio between 1982 and 1997, and which was one of the most influential and popular of Ibero-American rock. His solo career, started at the beginning of the '90s placed him among one of the most prestigious rock musicians in the country.

The film is about a project from Christopher Kirkleys called "Sahel Sounds". He owns an independent label and travels through the Sahel area in Africa, to find musician with an unique sound. The music he uses for his vinyl publication is often in low audio quality but authentic. The plot shows the whole process, from negotiating a fair deal with musician to producing the vinyl. He also organizes European tours, in the movie he is on a trip with Mamman Sani and Mdou Moctar, two musician who were found by Kirkleys in Niger.

In a school, a failing school specialising in music, Gabriel, gang-leader and graffiti artist who breaks into the school building after dark, begins to see ghosts. At first he only sees one ghost - a beautiful young teenager who was a victim of bullying. Soon though, others appear. Only the bewildered Gabriel can see them. He begins to encounter the ghost girl with disturbing frequency. She warns him that Lucy, the talented but fragile singer of the school rock band, Spray Can Angels, is being bullied and is soon destined to join the ranks of the ghosts Unless Gabriel can prevent it... With the arrival of the school inspectors, and everything hanging on the school concert at a nearby night spot, the pace is ratcheted up. “Angels vs Bullies” races towards a tense and moving double climax - to save Lucy and the school.

Die Zauberflöte is one of Mozart’s most famous works and one of the most beloved of the entire operatic repertoire. Generations of spectators have been fascinated by the melodies and adventures of Papageno, the Queen of the Night, Tamino, and Pamina, the ordeals faced by the young lovers, and the work’s inexhaustible allegorical depth. The director Romeo Castellucci has deliberately stepped back from the narrative dimension of the opera in order to explore its raw emotion and its philosophical heart. For his part, the conductor Antonello Manacorda brings Mozart’s immortal music to life with the help of an outstanding cast that includes Sabine Devieilhe, one of today’s finest interpreters of the Queen of the Night.

We trace the life and career of Lead Belly, a man praised by critics and revered by artists, whose unique music crossed a host of genres and influenced countless industry legends, from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin to Nirvana and beyond.

In the summer of 2010, AIX Records recorded 7 new projects using prototype Panasonic 3D video cameras. The first of these projects to make it through the post production process was the Goldberg Variations Acoustica, which was released as the world's first 3D Music Album&trade on August 3 of that year. It is not a live concert Blu-ray disc like virtually all other blu-ray titles although it does have HD-Video of the entire session. It is a single take improvisation based on the Baroque masterpiece of J.S. Bach, my favorite composer. The AIX All Star Band has done three previous 'acoustica' projects with us and each has its own quality.
