The purveyor of a stomping piano style known as the "Harlem Stride," the complex Smith was also a decorated war hero, a cantor in a Harlem synagogue, and a composer of over 100 classic jazz compositions. This biographical documentary examines the life of the legendary jazz great through interviews, narration, archival material, and rare performance footage.

The Four Horsemen were southern rock’s bad boys. They toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Black Crowes, released two albums and EP in the 90´s, and CD/DVD anthology in 2007. Southern rock folklore consists of many bands who faced their demons and overcame tragedy, but sadly, The Four Horsemen lost their battles with the destructive side of rock and roll. In 1974, he defied the musical mainstream by forming Austin's first jazz/rock fusion band, the Electromagnets, and he's been making guitar history ever since. "Guitar genius" is an easy phrase to throw around, but when it comes to blending fire and finesse, Eric Johnson has it all.

"Wind of Change" is a video work by Wolfgang Tillmans that features street musicians playing the 1990 song of the same name in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. In the video, the musicians are captured in a candid, observational style, typical of Tillmans' photographic approach. The song itself, a power ballad by the Scorpions, became an anthem associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War, making the video a poignant reflection on that historical moment and its continuing resonance

The Congotronics 2 album includes a 41-minute DVD based on material filmed by Vincent Kenis while he recorded these bands in Kinshasa. These bands all draw on traditional trance music, to which they’ve incorporated heavily-distorted sounds generated by DIY amplification of their instruments... just like Konono N°1, except that, as musicians come from various geographical and cultural background, they use very diverse rhythms, timbres and instruments: the trademark electrified thumb pianos and megaphones are joined by an array of buzzing drums, swirling guitars and hypnotic balafons. The subtitle of this album hints to the legendary Ali-Foreman boxing fight which took place in Kinshasa in 1974, and was nicknamed "Rumble In The Jungle". James Brown, BB King, Fania All Stars and Myriam Makeba performed there around that event, which had a deep impact on a whole generation of young Congolese musicians and fans.

"Welcome to Wherever You Are" is an 18-minute documentary that follows INXS behind the scenes at a charity concert in 1992. In addition to providing an interesting look at the lead-up to a concert, this program includes performances of the songs "Heaven Sent" and "Taste It."

Innovative musical ensemble Friedemann plays live at Stuttgart Theaterhaus in this concert video, performing an eclectic mix of folk, jazz, pop and chamber music. Highlights include the incorporation of six gas lighters in the unique composition "Sparks" and an audience-pleasing stick fight between percussionists Markus Faller and Emmanuel "Venin" Sjourn. Songs include "Once in the Black Forest" and "The Samurai Who Decided to Die."

In God We Trust, Inc. - The Lost Tapes the videotaping of the Dead Kennedys' first recording session for their EP, In God We Trust Inc. It was released in July 2003. The session was filmed in June 1981 by Eric Goodfield for a part of a punk documentary he was making. When the DKs went to master the tape, it started to peel and deteriorate, so they had to record it again (that session took place in August and was used for the EP). The tape was in Goodfield's collection until the DKs asked him if he would release the video as part of their 25th anniversary. It includes live versions of all the songs except "Hyperactive Child", for which no live footage could be found.

Astral Weeks Live at the Hollywood Bowl: The Concert Film is the second official DVD by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It features the songs from his 1968 classic album, Astral Weeks. The live performances on the DVD were filmed from two separate concerts by Van Morrison at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California in 2009, with a fourteen member band.

Ian Anderson Plays the Orchestral Jethro Tull is a live album and DVD by Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson, featuring the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, conducted by John O'Hara. The DVD was recorded at the Rosengarten in Mannheim on 8 December 2004. The concert was part of a series of the same name. Anderson, O'Hara, and the orchestra toured Europe and the United States throughout 2004 and 2006.

Karl Richter breathed new life into Bach's music by bringing it to new circles of listeners. The church musician Karl Richter (1926-1981) founded the Munich Bach Orchestra and Bach Choir in the 1950s and thus put into practice his new ideas of Bach interpretation. He departed from oppressively large orchestral arrangements, introduced a new simplicity, allowing the notes to turn directly into music. He kindled a blaze of enthusiasm for Bach that goes on to this day. "The Legacy of Karl Richter" documents the main milestones, events and people in the life of this great artist and personality. It shows his roots in the Saxon-Thuringian musical tradition and conveys something of the splendor of Karl Richter's interpretations of Bach and Handel, which remain unsurpassed to this day. Light is also shed upon the versatility of Richter's musical talent, which ranged far beyond Bach and Handel.

After fighting a hard-core drug habit for most of her life, Christa Päffgen aka Nico -- the striking European supermodel who sat in as an occasional lead singer with the Velvet Underground -- succumbed to a tragic death in 1988 at the age of 50, the result of a bicycle accident. Resurrecting her ghostly vocals, this rare collection of footage captures two of her final public performances, filmed in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s.

Shot live in the intimacy of a hotel room, this freewheeling set captures the nomadic spirit of the gypsy tradition as gypsy jazz guitarist Frank Vignola jams with guitarist Jimmy Rosenberg, violinist Federico Britos and drummer Joe Ascione.
