Adriana Lecouvreur

Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur was inspired by the real-life story of a celebrated actress at the Comédie-Française who was much admired by Voltaire. Hailed as a masterpiece, the opera was triumphantly staged in cities around the world after its premiere in 1902. The dramatically effective narrative is a passionate love triangle filled with intrigue and complicated plot twists set in the gallant 18th century. Its subtle ironies and gorgeous cantabile style of music provide a perfect vehicle for the star cast in this stunning production from the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Morse, Portnoy, Gillette, Hubauer & Friends: Live in Cancun 2022

In mid-July, Mike, Bill, Eric and I played a set of songs at a friend’s 40th birthday party in Cancun. Now as you know, we don’t normally do party gigs but… for one night only, we played some stuff we’ve never done before. In addition to songs by Spock’s Beard, Flying Colors, and NMB, we did a bunch of covers and jam material, and we were joined by Melody Portnoy and Julie Harrison. We didn’t plan to release this, but when I realized it was recorded on audio and video, I thought this would be a great thing to share with the Inner Circle – a true one-off performance that you’ll not get anywhere else! Eric Clapton: The Lady in the Balcony - Lockdown Sessions

The project was initiated as the result of the forced cancellation of Eric’s concerts scheduled for May 2021 at the Royal Albert Hall due to the continued disruption caused by the pandemic. Looking for a viable alternative and hoping to keep his options open, he reconvened with his band to the English countryside and staged a concert in the presence of only the participants themselves while letting the cameras roll. (Eric’s wife, Melia, the sole outside observer inspired the Sessions title.) The mostly acoustic set was envisioned to be like an "Eric Clapton Unplugged II," but not quite, as three songs are played with electric guitars. The result became far more than simply a sequence of greatest hits. Rather, it’s one of the most intimate and authentic performances of his entire career, an offering flush with real insight into the make-up of his indelible catalogue.
