In 2001, twelve singing divas from all over the world gathered in Taormina, in the world-famous Greek amphitheater. Under the direction of André Heller, they let their unique voices ring out in the magically illuminated venue. This "festival of the last prima donnas" included, among others, the American star soprano Jessye Norman, the "Voice of Africa" ​​Ami Koita, the jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, hailed as the "new Ella Fitzgerald," as well as the highly successful Israeli pop singer Noa and her Arab-Palestinian counterpart Amal Murkus, the "Piaf of the Gypsies" Esma Redzepova, and the reincarnation of Naples music, Lina Sastri.

More than 12,000 clubbers packed Rotterdam's Ahoy Stadium for this epic set by DJ Armin van Buuren, in which the Dutch trance superstar electrified audiences for nine hours. Highlights from the unforgettable evening in November 2005 include many of Armin's own tracks -- including "Zocalo," "Hymne" and "Sail" -- as well as beats by Arctic Quest, Inertia and others.

The editing doesn?t follow the event, but emphasized on the links between images and sounds, focusing on disjunction, beats, and repetition of gestures. Therefore the image becomes sound.

‘Blue Potential’ is a CD and DVD package that documents Mills’ live collaboration with the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra in a free concert performed in July of 2005 under the magnificent Pont Du Gard just outside of Avignon, France. The concert consists of fifteen orchestral reworkings of Mills’ tracks ranging from classics such as ‘Amazon’ and ‘Sonic Destroyer’ to more recent material from his soundtracks to ‘Metropolis’ and ‘Three Ages’. The arrangement is simple: Mills provides the rhythmic backbone with his trademark 909 percussive hiss and snare while the orchestra provides the melodic and harmonic elements.

The Wacken Open Air festival is an annual heavy metal festival that takes place in a small German town. The 2007 festival saw New Jersey thrash band Overkill play a frantic set, which is presented here in its entirety.

A tribute to the great Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel, who died at the age of 94 on 17 June 2025. An acclaimed performer of Beethoven, he leaves behind him a musical legacy spanning more than sixty years. His performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 at Lucerne in 2005 was a highlight of the festival, conducted by Claudio Abbado, another icon of classical music.

Japanese two female singer-songwriters, Kazumi Nikaido (also known as Nika Soup) and Saya Source (of Tenniscoats, Maher Shalal Hash Baz). Nika is known for her chameleon-like ability to transform her voice, while Saya has a melancholic and straightforward singing style. Both have distinct voices that can be identified immediately, but when they sing in unison, they create melodies that are truly sublime. They have released charming album IPIYA (2005) features playful pop songs reminiscent of nursery rhymes, repetitive mantra-like tracks. The two went back and forth from their homes in Hiroshima and Tokyo to create beautifully diverse songs for this record. This is the documentary of "how" and "why" and also "where" they had made the very original music. Many interviews, rehearsals, free sessions, live performances are included. There is a childlike innocence to this documentary, and offers a peak into the unique world of how they make music.

On July 22, 1997, Phish performed the second show of their US summer tour at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC. During the show, a thunderstorm of biblical proportions passed by, letting loose a torrential downpour with thunder and lightning that accentuated the electricity of the event. This DVD documents the collision between a force as imaginative and powerful as Phish and the supreme forces of Creation, and it contains the complete concert, uncut.

One of the lesser known works by Giuseppe Verdi, Simon Boccanegra is regarded by most opera lovers as one of his finest. The action takes place in the 14th century and deals with the political and personal rivalry between the corsair Simon Boccanegra, who has been elected Doge of Genoa with the help of the plebeian vote, and the local nobleman, Jacopo Fiesco. Arthaus presents a visually alert, musically sensitive and disturbingly coherent (Der Standard) production of the piece on DVD. The staging was directed by one of the giants of the European theatre, Peter Stein. His fondness for atmospherically dense spaces in which the characters can fully develop is particularly well brought out in his Vienna production, not least because he had at his disposal two remarkable singing actors for the principal male roles, Thomas Hampson and Ferruccio Furlanetto.

The miraculous injection of power provided by the addition of grenade-girl Pikachu to the ranks, and the special guest appearance by YAMAZAKI MASO (aka MASONNA) meant that this date at Bears was insanity on an unprecedented scale. By the end of the group’s set there was so little oxygen left in the venue that no one’s lighter would work!

The opera begins at the end. The woman has just experienced a terrible accident, a crash of both the computer and her brain to which the computer is connected. The first two parts take us through the reconstruction of her story, the use of her body, speech, memory and the data banks and central brain of the computer. She shares genetic, organic material with the computer as the computer replaces parts of her body with its cybernetic material. The relationship is unclear to both of them. Where reality exists is in a floating multi-layered network of hallucinations, fractured memories and her externalized inner life viewed on the computers screens, the film itself. She is physically present, witnessing and participating in the story on the stage, the computer, consisting of screens, sounds, musical icons and a glass central unit on which the woman performs her rituals of reconstruction. The story unfolds to her and to us simultaneously in a quest to understand what caused the accident...

The punk rock ethos gains new relevance in Israel, however, when band members' choices are often between picking up a guitar or picking up a gun. Like the country itself, the punk rock music scene in Israel is young, small, and passionate. The bands have differing political views, but they share a struggle for freedom in a country where they feel restricted by religious laws, mandatory military service and an explosive political situation. Looking at the present situation in Israel through the eyes of punk rockers is not a common vantage point, but the voices of these young people will illuminate the thoughts of a generation of disillusioned Israelis who yearn for an end to the bleak politics of war, so that they might live out their dreams.

The live performance was recorded during their The Hard and the Easy tour.
